Just a few months after it launched its Oppo Find N, Oppo is now set to release its newest flagship phone. Oppo unveiled its Oppo Find X5 series, with Find X5 Pro as the top model. The series includes the cheaper Find X5 Lite, the regular, and the Pro model. It is their first set of flagship smartphones this year.

Oppo Find X5 Pro: Design
The Oppo Find X5 Pro has a beautiful curvy ceramic rear panel design. The phone is available in two colors: Ceramic Black and Ceramic White. A third color, encased in light blue eco-leather, is available in China, but we don’t expect it to be accessible anywhere else.
Oppo has made sure that the Find X5 Pro looks great by polishing it to such a high-gloss finish that highlights the phone’s curves. The elegant ceramic also gives the phone a warmer, more premium feel. The phone is also heavy at 218 grams. Thanks to its IP68 water and dust resistance, you don’t have to worry about spills, rain, or dust getting into your phone.
The only downside we think the design has is the printed information on the back. It’s not really bad but it still interrupts the phone’s pure look. It will easily be covered with a case, though.
Oppo Find X5 Pro: Display
The Oppo Find X5 Pro features a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 3216 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. This gives you a phone that looks amazing with Oppo’s trademark vibrant colors and deep blacks. It also uses Corning Gorilla Glass to provide your phone with adequate protection against accidental falls. The slick dynamic 120Hz refresh rate provides a smooth gaming and video experience. To unlock the phone, you have several options: a fingerprint sensor, face unlock, pin, or a passcode. The Oppo Find X5 Pro’s display is large and beautiful, making it great for gaming, watching movies, and browsing the web.
Oppo Find X5 Pro: Camera
Oppo has equipped the Find X5 Pro with a triple rear camera setup. It features a 50-megapixel main camera, 50-megapixel ultrawide, and a 13MP telephoto for 2x optical zoom. Its main camera has five-axis optical image stabilization (OIS) system while the ultrawide uses a freeform lens which should reduce distortion. Moving to the front, you will see a 32-megapixel wide-angle camera. Oppo and Hasselblad collaborated on the development of the camera software of this phone. You’ll hear its distinctive shutter sound as well as a Hasselblad Pro mode, some color filters, and an XPAN photography mode.

The power of OPPO’s MariSilicon X imaging NPU has made it possible to bring 4K Ultra Night Video to Android smartphones for the first time. This should also help users take better low-light photos. Unfortunately, this new model can only digitally zoom up to 20x. This is a long way off the 100x zoom offered on Samsung’s latest phone, the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Under the Oppo Find X5 Pro’s hood beats the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. This is the most powerful processor available today and it will give you the best possible flagship experience. It is accompanied by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. Unfortunately, a microSD card slot is not available if you need more storage. The Find X5 Pro comes preloaded with Android 12 and ColorOS 12.1. Its Color OS 12 incorporates one of the best features of Android 12 — Dynamic theming. With this, your Oppo phone will change the look and feel of the UI depending on the wallpaper you have set. Oppo has promised three years of OS updates and four years of monthly security patches.
Oppo Find X5 Pro: Battery Life and Connectivity
The Find X5 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery. This should be enough to get you through a full day of use. The phone also supports Oppo’s SuperVOOC charging standard. This will give you a full charge in just 30 minutes. Fortunately, unlike some flagship phones these days, the 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge is included in the box. You may also charge the phone wirelessly if you have a compatible wireless charging pad. It also supports Wi-Fi 6, NFC and is 5G-ready so you can take advantage of the faster speeds and low latency of the next-generation network.
Oppo Find X5 Pro: Release Date and Price
The Oppo Find X5 Pro will be released in the U.K. on March 24 with a starting price of £1,049 ($1,485). In comparison, the Find X5 has a starting price of £749 while the Lite model is available for £419. Unfortunately, the company has not announced any plans to release the Find X5 Pro in America at this time.
