Apple’s New Processor – The Apple M1

On November 10th Apple announced in their event  “One more thing”  on their new Chipset – the Apple M1, that is based on ARM which means that Apple moved from Intel’s processor to their own ARM based processors. The new chipset is now installed in new computers – Macbook Air, Macbook Pro 13 and Mac Mini.

Apple M1 is the first chipset processor by Apple which will run Apple’s next updated software, the “macOS Big Sur”. The new processor will come with 5nm process technology and packed with an astounding 16 billion transistors. On the cores section Apple M1 equipped with 8 cores in total that  4 high performance cores and 4 high efficiency cores. In addition to that, along with the Apple M1 we have the graphic chipset with 8 cores, Neural Engine with 16 cores for artificial intelligence and machine learning processing.

Macbook Air 2020 with Apple M1

  • 13.3-inch display with resolution of 1600×2500
  • FaceTime HD selfie/front camera 720p on top of the display.
  • According to Apple it will perform 3.5x times faster and will process graphics 5x times faster then the previous generation.
  • Comes in gold, light silver or dark silver.
  • Up To 16GB RAM and up to 2TB Storage.
  • Can last 15 hours on browsing and 18 hours of watching videos – x2 battery life then the previous generation.

Macbook Pro 13 with Apple M1

  • 13.3-inch display with resolution of 1600×2560
  • Still has the Apple’s Magic Keyboard with Touch Bar on top of it.
  • According to Apple it will perform up to 2.8x times faster then the previous generation and up to 3x times faster then their competitive PC computers that are in the same category as Macbook pro 13.
  • The laptop is 1.56 cm thickness and weighs 3 pounds.
  • Come in light silver or dark silver.
  • Up To 16GB RAM and up to 2TB Storage.
  • Can last up to 17 hours on browsing and up to 20 hours of watching videos – x2 battery life then the previous generation.
  • The Apple M1 in this laptop is more powerful compared to Macbook air on the number of cores it includes. (Macbook pro include the Neural Engine while Macbook Air doesn’t)

Mac Mini with Apple M1

The new Mini mac offers according to Apple up to x3 performances, x6 graphic performances and up to x15 machine learning performances. This mac can outperform up to x5 times computers that are on the same price tag as Mac mini. The Mac Mini comes in silver color, with full form of Apple M1 chipset ( Cpu cores, gpu cores and Neural Engine) and offers up to 16 GB RAM and up to SSD 2TB Storage.

The new Apple M1 Mac Devices will be available from November 17th:
