5. Nirvana
If you ever listened to the hits “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Heart-Shaped Box” you probably know Nirvana. This American rock band was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987 and played a crucial role in the life of most people in the 90s and even after that.
The band was founded by lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic and went through succession of drummers before they recruited Dave Grohl in 1990. The band became hugely popular during their short journey from 1987 to 1994 and many of their songs still being heard around the world.
