Spooky Free Games for PlayStation and Xbox This October

Halloween is coming and both Sony and Microsoft prefer unusual games for their premium members on PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold.

Every month those members can receive and download different free games that can be granted with in the current month that Sony and Xbox publish those games.

They can play those games as along they are premium members.

Halloween is celebrated at the end of October so it affected the companies’ picks the free games for this month.

Need For Speed: Payback

From October 6th, you will be able to download one of the legendary racing.
Pick one of the 3 characters (each one and their car set) and roll out through heist mission, cars showdown, escape police’s pursuits await you and enjoy many mission and great story line in an open world game.


In the same day you will be able to download the horror game Vampyr.
Vampyr is an action game from the creator of “Life is Strange” that happen in London 1918.

This game is about doctor who became a vampire. You will decide if you want to be good or evil, to help the people in the city so they will reward you with stuffs and missions or if you going to eat them to gain power to fight bigger darkness threats that emerging in streets in London. Be aware every decision you make will impact and affect the storyline – so choose wisely.

Xbox Live Gold: Games With Gold

Start from October 1st you can download Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cut, puzzle game based on horror movies from the 80s. You will be play as the Skullface and the main goal is to terrorize teenagers at summer camp. The game includes close to 300 puzzles. Are you ready to take those poor young souls?

On October 1st you can download the classic XBOX game “Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy”. You will be play as the Sphinx and a mummy as your partner and you both go to an adventure to seek for Egypt’s magical treasures which will help you both to save the world

On October 16th you will be able to download “Maid Of Sker”, a first person survival horror game. You arrive to a frightening and cursed hotel.

Your goal is to sneak around and avoid the monsters. Be aware that those monsters are blind and use mostly their hearing sense. So if you make to much noise around them, they will hunt you down.

To lightened the mood, Microsoft shares a friendly Halloween game for kids called Costume Quest.


Microsoft Acquires Bethesda Softworks


Microsoft announced on the purchase of ZeniMax Media, the company that owns the famous gaming studio Bethesda Softworks which brought us some of the best games such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Wolfenstein, DOOM, Dishonored, Quake, Starfield and many more.

This announcement comes after Microsoft revealed the date when they will start their new Xbox series preorder – Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

The numbers are eyepopping… Microsoft will pay 7.5 billion USD in cash to the share holders of ZeniMax Media and as part of the deal, Microsoft will get not only Bethesda Softworks but all the gaming development units under it such as id Software (which developed games like Doom, Rage, Wolfenstine, Quake) and Arkane (which stands behind Dishonored, Bioshock and Prey).

This acquisition will help Microsoft building their gaming brand and market their new generation consoles. The company already announced that many of Bethesda’s games will be added to Microsoft’s gaming subscription – Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft also referred directly to Starfield, the new futuristic space game which in development at the moment.

Xbox Series S Is Here.


Microsoft announced on the official date for their new gaming console – Xbox Series S.

The date that was chosen is November 10th,2020.

Today, September 9th, Microsoft shares the first official trailer of their console. In the trailer Microsoft decided to emphasize the console’s design and small measurements while providing some technical information about the product.

Microsoft says in the trailer that this is the smallest Xbox that was ever made, and it is 60% smaller than the last Xbox – Xbox series X.

In the trailer, Microsoft also share a quick look at their Xbox controller.

Microsoft confirms that the console will be 100% digital and won’t have optical cd slot. The console will support gaming resolution of up to 1440P and 120Fps.

The console will be equipped with 512GB SSD hard drive for better loading times and will support 4K media streaming.

The price tag will be standard – $299.

Microsoft Shares New Info On The New Xbox


after Sony informed that the new Playstation arrives soon, it’s Microsoft turn to share some new details about their gaming console.

The Xbox Series X will arrive in the holidays (along with the PlayStation), but until then, both companies revealed new info –

Extremely High Performances –

Microsoft shared the full specs of the Series X –

Zen 2 processor with 8 cores @ 3.8 GHz, RDNA 2-class graphic engine, 16 giga RAM and 1TB SSD of storage.

This machine will cast games at 4K @ 60 FPS, up to 120 FPS and will support the RayTracing technology that present light effects for more realistic pictures.


The usage of SSD hard-drive is one of the main reasons that the console’s performances at the demo – 40 second difference in loading time between Xbox One and Series X.

Microsoft shared a new feature called Xbox Velocity Architecture which combine hardware and software architecture and allows games to get the resources they need fast. Now developers can skip long cut scenes to load the next chapter of the game.

The controller is going to change as well – the controllers will fit the hand of an 8-year-old but it won’t worsen the gaming experience of someone with big hands. The controllers will be charged with USB type C.


We will be able to expand the memory of the console. Don’t get to excited because these special hard drives will cost about $200, so we will have to be very careful about it.
